First day: choose your business type
The platform grew out of restaurant QR menus, but it has long worked for a retail store, a beauty salon, a hotel, an online store, a parcel pickup point and a service business. The business type is chosen at registration (and can be changed later in the location settings): it sets the words in the interface (“dish” or “product”, “table” or “specialist”), the POS mode (tables or counter) and the set of sections switched on from the start.
Every format has its own first day, so there are seven checklists — one per business type. Their common backbone is the same.
What is common to everyone#
- Registration — e-mail and password or sign-in with Google → Account and sign-in.
- Location — created automatically with a default name; rename it as the first step of the readiness checklist on the dashboard.
- Business type — chosen in the wizard; double-check it in the location settings if unsure → Settings.
- Languages — the panel language and the guest/customer languages; content translations are made automatically.
- Subscription — everything works in trial mode at the start; the plan is chosen later → Subscription.
- Help — the AI assistant in the panel knows which page you are on and answers “where is setting X” → How to get help.
Everything else is in the checklist for your format.
Pick your checklist#
| Business type | Formats | Checklist |
|---|---|---|
| 🍽️ Food service | coffee shop, cafe, restaurant with a dining room, bar, fast food, canteen | First day: cafe, restaurant, canteen |
| 🏪 Retail store | grocery, clothing, flowers, a bakery at the counter, any brick-and-mortar store | First day: retail store |
| 💇 Salon | beauty salon, barbershop, nail studio, massage, cosmetology | First day: salon, barbershop, studio |
| 🏨 Hotel | hotel, guesthouse, apartments, hostel | First day: hotel, guesthouse |
| 🛒 Online store | online sales without a counter, dropshipping, marketplaces | First day: online store |
| 📦 Pickup point | parcel pickup point, locker desk, handing out carriers' orders | First day: pickup point |
| 🧰 Services and B2B | studios, tutors, service centres, agencies, law and accounting firms | First day: services and B2B |
💡 A business “in between” (a cafe inside a store, a salon with a cosmetics showcase) starts with the checklist of its main format and switches the second one on later: sections are not locked behind the business type, the app store adds them.
If the business type was chosen wrong#
The business type is changed in the location settings. It renames section labels and the location (if the name is still the default) and changes the POS mode, but it does not delete data: the menu, products, customers and orders stay. Sections switched on manually stay on too.
