Cenaly Customer Display Early access

The customer sees the order and the total on a screen next to the till

Cenaly Customer Display turns a spare Android tablet or phone into a customer-facing screen: the items of the current ticket and the total appear as the cashier rings them up.

What it does

The ticket as it is rung up

One line per item, the total large and bold; with nothing to show, a calm placeholder. It looks the same as the bridge’s customer screen in a browser.

Local network first

Lines come from Cenaly Hardware Bridge over the location’s Wi-Fi — fast and without the internet.

Cloud as a backup

If the bridge is out of reach, the screen switches to the cloud channel by itself and returns to the bridge as soon as it is back.

Set up with a QR code

Sign in by scanning the device code from the dashboard (or typing it), pick the location if there are several, then pair with the bridge — or choose cloud only.

Secure pairing

Pairing with the bridge is TLS-only: the app shows the bridge certificate code, and the PIN is sent only after you confirm it matches the code on the bridge PC.

Always on

Full screen, the display never sleeps; it can start by itself after a reboot and keep running in the background. Settings hide behind a long press in the top-right corner, so customers do not see them.

Limits, honestly

  • The screen shows item lines and the total only — no tips, payment QR codes or promotional content.
  • Setup screens are in English; items appear in the language the POS sends them in.
  • The display shows only what the POS sends: with no bridge and no internet it stays on the placeholder.
  • Android versions are distributed as an installation file right from this site — they are not on Google Play yet; iPhone and iPad versions are released through the App Store. Features were tested on emulators and test devices; acceptance in working venues is still in progress.

How to install

  1. Open this page on the Android device itself and tap “Download APK”.
  2. Open the downloaded file. On the first install Android asks to allow installs from this source (your browser) — allow it.
  3. Tap “Install” and wait until it finishes — the icon appears on the home screen.
  4. Launch the app and sign in: email and password, or a QR code issued by the web dashboard.

Updating works the same way: download the file again and install it over the old one; your sign-in is kept.

Sign-in

The same account as the web dashboard: email and password, a QR code for a shared device, and an authenticator code if two-factor protection is on. Staff only see the locations of their role.
